Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has put all the drug lords in the County on notice to leave Mombasa County or face his wrath.
Speaking at Makadara Grounds, during the opening of the National Authority for Campaign Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse (NACADA) Coast region office, Joho declared drug and substance abuse a County disaster.
He noted that the drug menace had become a societal vice that everyone has to gang up against, because it continues to take toll on the youths who are the driving engines of the County development.
Joho pledged to step up his fight against the drug business in the next six months and called on residents and his County Assembly members to support him.
He challenged all the stakeholders of the anti-drug war to stop apportioning blame but instead strive to fix the problem.
Mombasa became a hub for drug dealings following its proximity to both seaport and airport compounded with porous international borders.
