Drama unfolded at the CID offices in Machakos after two men suspected to be robbers were left dazed and drowsy after a witchdoctor administered a potion to flush them out.
Scores of people struggled to catch a glimpse of the two who were placed on the bench outside the CID offices as relatives negotiated with the witchdoctor to undo the spell.
It is said that the two, a tout and a cashier at a spare parts shop, had been conning their employer and stealing from him, an accusation they denied.
According to the employer, he decided to seek the witchdoctor’s help after the two kept on denying being responsible for the losses incurred despite the many complains and losses he was incurring.
The witchdoctor is said to have sprayed some juju at the doorstep of his shop only for the victim to inhale and sleep. The owner found them the following morning and reported the matter to the police.
Machakos police boss Richard Kerich said that the two are being held at the Machakos police station as investigations get underway. Kerich said that he has recommended the two to be taken for medical examination since they are too drowsy and confused.
However, the business man has refused to undo the juju demanding a refund of the witchdoctor’s fee and the stolen amount which the family is unable to raise.
