Mother of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mama Ngina has told Central Kenya residents not to expect free things because they voted for her son Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving Ceremony at her Ishaweri Home in Gatundu on Monday, Mama Ngina said Uhuru is now a national leader and not a leader for the Kikuyu community.
“Don’t sit back and wait for free things from my son, Uhuru Kenyatta. Work hard for the nation since Uhuru is now a national leader and he will not help an individual but the whole country in general,” Mama Ngina said.
She said the Sh 6 billion that Uhuru‘s administration has pledged to give for the youth is not a gift, but will be given to youth groups who have the will and experience in investing money wisely.
The onetime first lady also thanked the Central Kenya residents for voting overwhelmingly for her son, saying a good leader is chosen by God but not by men.
