Outgoing Prime Minister Raila Odinga has compared himself with Jesus Christ during the crucifixion, saying Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga played the role of Pontius Pilate during the last General Election.
Addressing thousands of his supporters in Kisumu on Friday, Raila who was holding a Bible said the Supreme Court, under President Willy Mutunga, made a wrong decision during Easter, on the same period Jesus was persecuted, died and rose.
“The decision is like the persecution of Jesus Christ that occurred over 2000 years ago. Like Jesus, I am still alive,” Raila said as thousands of his supporters wailed loudly comforting themselves after suffering a humiliating defeat in the just concluded poll.
Earlier in the day, while addressing youth in Jua Kali area, he was presented with a Bible and urged to swear as a president. He was sworn in as the undisputed President of Nyanza Republic.
